People often ask me how I started out in massage and the short answer is, I don’t really know…

I was a graphic designer for 10 years and was frustrated and bored with my work in that industry. I floated around for a couple years, working in retail and using my spare time to explore the things I always loved but never had the time for, like volunteering, making and selling my arts and crafts, travel and learning.
At some point I enrolled in a short massage course and thought, I like this, I’m not bad at this. And so I just kept studying.
I completed my Cert IV in relaxation massage and Diploma of Remedial Massage at the Southern School of Natural Medicine in 2012 and started working in both relaxation and remedial soon after.

Day Spa
I have worked in day spas such as Isika at Crown Metropol, the Hyatt and Park Hyatt and Endota spa for several years. Both in relaxation, body treatments, mini facials and remedial massage.
I was lucky enough to be a part of the team at endota spa Mildura for a number of years. There I learned about skin and body treatments and taught the locals about the importance of great remedial massage. I expanded my knowledge then into dry needling and cupping.

Remedial
I have since been focusing on my remedial treatments in mixed modality clinics. I’ve worked alongside myotherapists, osteopaths, physiotherapists and Pilates instructors.
I love working with other modalities as it expands my knowledge and continually gives me new perspectives to treat from. It also gives my clients access to all their allied health needs.
The important thing to me is, not how I got into massage but how much I love it now. I love seeing the benefits my clients get from massage. Be it for relaxation, chronic pain management or injury rehabilitation.
